The Far Woods: Drawstring Bag Workshop at the PSU Farmer's Market

The Far Woods: Drawstring Bag Workshop at the PSU Farmer's Market

If you’re aware of Portland’s sister-run art studio, The Far Woods, you know they tirelessly advocate for consuming less. Whether through their popular hand illustrated poster art or holding public workshops like the one featured here, these women are holding a vision for skill set reclamation and slower living.

In this Farmer’s Market workshop -held every Saturday on Portland State University’s campus - Sonya (at the sewing machine) and Nina (helping guests thread drawstring) were showing the community how easy it is to make a reusable drawstring bag. An approachable project to sew by hand or machine, replacing our plastic bag consumption by example brought many participants to their throughout the day!
